Great place for oyster, their lunch set is good but too bad the fresh raw oyster was sold out. The only down side is they sever your food very fast make me feel like I am at a fast food restaurant, may be because all others are ordering the same set.

Tried both the raw oysters, and the deep fried. Both were amazing. Raw were slightly sweet and light to the taste. Deep fried had just the perfect amount of batter with a seriously tasty tartar dip. Slightly more expensive that neighboring stores, but highly recommend for oysters.

Not a great fan of oysters but the oysters here are definitely fresh! Get the set meal to have a taste of oyster 6 ways. Deep fried and grill versions are my favorite!

Some of the best oysters I’ve ever had!

I ordered the normal kakiya set. It’s really filling. Hiroshima oysters are juicy and big. Totally worth the price that I paid at ¥2180. However, I won’t travel down to the island just to eat this unless you are sight seeing around the island too.

the 2,600 yen set was just right for one person, the jumbo deep friend oyster and those little side dishes are particular good. Others are OK. I give it a 4 stars becoz the cheese baked oyster isn’t very good (the creamy cheese doesn’t quite match and should add a little sweet mayo to balance the taste). Grilled oyster is average. Overall was a good all-oyster meal!

So good! We had the Kakimeshi (oysters on rice) it comes with oyster miso and oyster tsukudani. Brown rice that is like risotto and has seaweed on it. Osusume.edit: we went back on the same day to have their grilled (barbecued) premium oysters with lemon soda and it was delish. Next time i think i will get a set menu that has a variety of different cooked and raw oysters.

Great service and food. Gets a very busy at lunch time go earlier if you can.

Keep calm and eat oysters A nice place to have lunch or late lunch. My friend and I both ordered oyster set meal included 6 courses (maybe 7?!I’m not sure.haha). All the dishes on menu are made with oyster included two palm-size grilled oysters, oyster miso soup, fermented oyster, deep-fried oysters, oyster Kamameshi and appetizer. The price is quite reasonable if having such generous amount of oysters. Feel satisfied.

Loved the oysters here. Had them prepared 5 different ways. The deep fried oyster was my personal favorite. Staff was friendly and they had an English menu. Definitely worth stopping on your way back to the ferry.

Slightly pricey but well worth the price. A great variety of oysters cooked differently and it all tasted great. We ordered a Premium Kakiya Set and Oyster Gratin. Both exceeded our expectations. I initially thought that their 4.3 stars rating from 1000+ reviewers is a marketing ploy, but no, it isn’t.3pm is their last order.

if you like oysters, this place is fantastic

Oysters of Hiroshima fame is farmed near Miyajima, and Kakiya is the defacto outlet. A little tourist trodden but delicious nonetheless.

If you want to try oysters for the first time, then you have come to the right place. Order a set menu and some raw ones and dig in. We got the premium set and two huge raw oysters to share between us. It did not disappoint. They also have a lot of wines to choose from, the local ones are quite nice and go well with the oysters.

I ordered the oysters set and I really regret it. It's really fresh and all, but I just can't eat that many oysters at once. I felt like throwing up afterwards because it was just too much food.. I would suggest ordering something simple with oysters, and spend the rest of the money outside for street food u.u.

Superb oysters. Fresh and just the right amount of saltiness. We tried the Kakiya set as well as the premium Hiroshima barbecued oysters. Our favorite is the oyster rice from the set, and the premium BBQ oysters.

Must visit when in Miyajima. Just order the Kakiya set and feast. Large selection of wine and sake to go with the oysters.

If there is just one restaurant to try during your day trip to Miyajima, make Kakiya your only choice.

Love the seafood and oyster. The oyster set provides different types of oyster cooking. And second floor has a red wine wall, it's very beautiful.

Very good & fresh oysters. Good service with English menu. We ordered the premium set and other oyster side dishes. Cash & Alipay only. We thought they would take credit card but was surprised that they only accept cash & Alipay. So make sure you have enough cash to pay. Our bill was $6,350 JPY for 2 of us

This clean and stylish place was an outstanding oyster restaurant on the island, after trying many, though not all, restaurants claiming to specialize in oyster cuisine. Nice selection of wines going smoothly with oysters, which was impressive because the unique flavor of oyster and the Japanese cooking way made it challenging to locate a good pairing wine. Highly recommended.

Quite good but expensive!

Kakiya set was quite big. The oysters were so tasty. I loved every bit of the set. My favourite was the grilled oysters. The lemon bear went well with the set meal.

Super cool restaurant only selling oysters in various ways. On the more expensive side of things, but good value for quantity. Good air-con too which was a welcomed break. Service was friendly and helpful

Not that this place need more crowd but the food was very good. Oysters were fresh and deliciously prepared different ways with the bento set you see in the photo. Expect long queue so go early before peak meal times.

Found this shop while walking towards the Shrine. The shop looks modern. What catches my eyes are the guy that grill/bbq the oysters at the front. He does it with passions. All the oysters are fresh and juicy just like tasting the sea. The service is excellent. Lastly, they’ve a wide selections of wines!
